Finally plans for 2012 are on a roll. Market dates are fixed in. Festival commitments set and ……. Well drum roll please. Because of the overwhelming success of Muddi Events and Boutique Market in Wagga Wagga and Corowa. We are opening our first Muddi Shop. Located at the Corowa Chocolate and Whisky Factory, Old flour Mill Corowa. So the shop will be affectively named ‘Muddi at the Mill’. Its a gift/lifestyle store obviously supporting handmade creators along with some kooky tourism goodies. The location of the store is AMAZING! As much as these pictures are fabulous you cannot capture the atmosphere and charm of this place until you visit. Long story short the inspiring Druce Family purchased the abandon mill for a steel. $1!! Yes it is true, it was a$1 but you cannot think for a minute that they haven’t poured an incredible amounts of blood sweat and tears into the mill to turn it into an award winning tourism attraction. http://www.corowawhisky.com/. I am excited about what we bring to each other. Chocolate, Whisky and Handmade HELLO HEAVEN! With the mills followers and muddies together it is bound to be a success. If you have read through the website http://www.muddi.com.au/ you would have read about the business plan in the office box for ummmm about 15 years. It has truly been that long since that I started imagining my little gallery/ giftstore. And thanks to alot of hard work, commitment, a supportive hubby and plain old good timing now it’s really happening. I ve been plugging handmade creators for so long. Writing their business and market planning, preparing them for retail. But now I can finally offer that opportunity. It is fantastic news and I couldn’t wait to getting cracking. There is a lot of work to be done and I will be sure to keep you all posted on the muddi madness.

Muddi will still be based in Wagga Wagga. This is where I grew up, where Muddi started, where my family works and lives and plays. Muddi Boutique Markets Wagga Wagga is where it all snowballed from. I ve got big plans from Muddi in our great city so stay tuned. Well that’s where Muddi is! About to eat a new slice of muddipie. About to take on the critics and happily cover them in mudd. About to drive into a giant deep, sticky muddi puddle. And it feels AMAZING!

Meet Miss Gigi

Meet 'Gigi' my alter ego. No I don't have a double life nor do I need a chat on a comfy leather lounge in a doctors office. Gigi is a character created to represent my creative side! She is everything I want Muddi to represent. The mix of a strong confident women who is sassy to boot. I wanted to give the stereo type 50's house wife a little twist. The idea of a 50's pin up chick that can juggle home, hubby, kids and work all at once. While still looking AMAZING! That's our Gigi ... Creating a character can allow us to showcase our talents whilst almost been anonymous or at the very least been able to define the difference between what is our work and what is our play. Take the super talented Beyonce who created Miss Sasha Fierce. She unleashes the character Sasha on stage to channel her super sexy side. (not that she needs any help in that department). But it works! A little character play can go a long way and as a marketing tool is FABULOUS DARLING. (compliments to our auzzie alter Dame Edna Everage.) Back to my point ... I am not suggesting we all run into public phone booths and reappear wearing a leotard and tights or that we live through imagination and fantasy. But by creating a character it can help you be the greatest creator you can be. Something that truly defines your label, be it a Sasha or a Dame Edna hey even a cat named Fred! I know you will definitely be reading and seeing more of Miss Gigi in the future; there is plenty more inspiration from her to come.

Happy Birthday Muddi Boutique Markets! Today one year ago myself, my family, friends and of course 32 amazing creators were running around like headless chooks. Erecting tents and setting up tables, hanging signs, directing traffic, displaying stock, packing and unpacking. I can only speak for myself but not much has changed. I still run around like a headless chook most of the time. Only one year on I am much much MUCH wiser! The world of Event Management and Market Coordinating is absolutely overwhelming and I love every minute of it. Dont worry... I have had my fair share of experience so the land of people management is not daunting but OMG nothing in my wildest dreams could have prepared me for the giant, deep, sticky muddi puddle we all know as MUDDI!

So cheers! To the next year of Muddi. Please stay tuned and follow the story. It will be a pretty good read I'd say! This is a chance for me to spread the word about handmade and the talented makers that continue to blow my mind. I am looking forward to featuring up and coming designers and keep you all in the loop on 'All Things Muddi'.
